Evaluation of Training Program

1. Feedback

It helps in giving feedback to the candidates by defining the objective and linking it to learning outcomes

2. Research

It helps in ascertaining the relationship between acquired knowledge, transfer of knowledge at the work place and training.

3. Control

It helps in controlling the training program because if the training is not effective, then it can be dealt with accordingly.

4. Power games

At times the top management (higher authoritative employees) uses the evaluative data to manipulate it for its own benefits.

5. Intervention

It helps in determine whether the actual outcomes are aligned with their expected outcome.

Process of Training Evaluation

1. Before training

The learner’s skills and knowledge are assessed before the training program.

2. During training

It is a phase in which instruction is started. This phase usually consists of short tests at regular intervals.

3. After training

It is a phase when learner’s skills and knowledge are assessed again to measure the effectiveness of the training.

  1. Questionnaires
  2. Tests
  3. Interviews
  4. Studies
  5. Feedback
  6. Human resource factors like employee satisfaction, decrease in attrition, absenteeism, accidents, grievance, etc.
